Week 1 Internship blog

  Hello everyone, my name is Patrick Callaghan, and this is my first blog post for the first week of this internship. This will be my second internship ever; I am continuing on from the summer semester internship with Dr. Gannon on completing the website for the Battle of Olustee. Unfortunately Dr. Gannon and our team were not able to meet this week. So this week I wanted to talk about a couple of goals that have carried over from last internship and a few new things I would like to look deeper into. The first goal I would like to continue working on is becoming a consistent active writer. As my role from last internship was to work on the battle summary of the Battle of Olustee, I looked to create something that retold the story keeping the attention of the most “non-readers” out there. A task that seems ambitious but if I can keep working on it I think it will be possible to produce a final product that is worth reading. The second goal is less with the project and more about...

Week 12 Internship Blog

  Hello everyone, Patrick Callaghan here posting the last blog of my summer semester internship for week number 12. What an experience this has been. All the weekly meetings and weekly classes have all been a blast to attend and learn from. However, as this first internship ends a new begins for me as I have decided to continue on during the fall semester with Dr. Gannon to complete our goal. But as it is the last week I see fit to reflect on such an interesting and grand experience. I found the final presentation was a great way to glance back to week 1 and every week leading up to this week. My one regret through this entire internship was not being able to go see the battleground with my team or by myself. As someone that really enjoys going to memorials local, national, and international. Even if this site was not up to par in the respect it is given by the locals, it allows us to see history and respect the soldiers that fought and fell. With not being able to go I think it ...
